8th Bead Soup Bead Party - Reveal

 Hi Everyone,
It's time for the big reveal - I cant wait to show you what I made from the gorgeous bead soup that my partner Claire from Saraccino  sent to me.
You can read more about the soup here...
We had to use the clasp and focal but we could also incorporate our own beads if we wanted. I was lucky to have a beautiful hand made clasp and focal in my absolute favourite colour.

I used the clasp as the focal point of a bracelet, I added my own round silver charms and the peace charm. I LOVE it on, its perfectly "me"

Working with the focal, it took me a while until I was happy with the look. I love the black glass flower beads with all the blue. LOVE the focal (thanks Claire)

I decided on a simple necklace using the multi-faceted, coloured glass beads. They literally do "shine".

Again I chose to create a very simple piece with these blingy beads, I joined them using double jump rings. A perfect match to the "Shine" necklace.

I have to admit, I'm not a big earring maker, so I am really happy with this pair using the matchy vintage style green beads.

Claire included beautiful blue handwoven silk from Thailand and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. I see these bracelets all over blogland and I wanted one for myself... I included the charms from my collection to accent the style.

I made this simple and feminine bracelet with memory wire and the clear beads and the blue cord. I added the white flower beads from my stash. It has such a calming feel about it.

Claire handmade this shell focal too, isn't it just beautiful? You know my style is beachy so this necklace fits the bill perfectly.

My absolute favourite beads from the whole soup are these 2 faceted mayan-blue rondelles. They are just gorgeous, so I made them into very simple earrings for myself.

My favourite piece though, has to be this necklace, it was the first thing I made, the same night that I received my soup! LOVE!!!

Included in the soup were these teeny tiny seed beads and glass tear drop beads. I threaded the seed beads onto very thin wire in a figure of 8 then folded it in half to make 2 circles. I used silver nail polish to add a touch of sparkle to the earrings.

I still have a number of beads left over to play with and I'm sure you will see them on my blog very soon. I had so much fun with this soup and I hope you have enjoyed all my creations.

Bead Soup Blog Party No. 8

Yay its Bead Soup Blog Party time again!!!
I joined for the first time last year and it was quite an experience. I enjoyed the challenge and the loved my finished items, so this year I jumped at the chance to join in again.

This year my partner is Claire from Saraccino. Oh my goodness I am so glad she is my partner - I'm now addicted to her style and her creations. LOVE her blog... Love!!!

She sent me the most breathtakingly gorgeous soup!

She has also introduced me to the best ever Etsy store, The Curious Bead Shop. I'm so excited about this find too.

But look at the most amazing clasp and focal - handmade by Claire!!! Wow I'm impressed, excited,  intimidated and inspired! And of course, could the colours be any more perfect for me?
The purpose of this blog party is to challenge each other and send soup's that will make us think outside the box, but Claire's soup has inspired me just by being all my favourite colours!

Claire also sent us some yummy chocolate from Germany (um all gone now!) and these adorable handmade (by Claire!) earrings! Seriously...how talented is she?

Mixing the soup....

Here is a sneak peak of what I sent to Claire - colours and materials inspired by the Paua shell of New Zealand.. I hope she has fun with it - I cant wait till the reveal.

So please go visit Claire, say hi and check out her awesome creations..

Until next time... I'll be testing my soup...

Take care

7th Bead Soup Bead Party - Reveal

 Hey Everyone,

Its finally time to reveal my pieces for the Bead Soup Blog Party.
So excited....happy dance!

A little reminder of the soup I received from my partner Carmen at Little Maketto... loads of interesting little packages...And lots of challenges!!

Remember we have to use the focal and the clasp that is sent to us but we can use some of our own beads in our creations too. I used Every.Single.Bead that  Carmen sent me, bar 1, and I added a few of my own to two of the pieces.

The first piece I made was a cuff bracelet with memory wire. I absolutely love how  it turned out.

I wasn't sure what to make with the lilac teardrop shell beads that were in the soup, until I received an order from Ply containing these gorgeous turquoise Moroccan Flower beads. I also added a handmade wire bead to make a pendant. This is totally my favourite piece of all.

The focal that I received is really striking, so I decided to make it just that....the focus! I added a few beads to the chain to accent the colours and it is simple but perfect...

The purple miracle beads were perfect for a bracelet, I teamed them up with my own stash of lime green frosted glass beads and made a cluster bracelet. I used the wee butterfly beads too and the beautiful clasp. This bracelet just shouts Spring doesnt it?

I also had 3 gorgeous Agate disc beads as well as a few leaves, in my soup. The colour palate is perfect for Autumn and that's the season I'm currently experiencing! I added in 2 large bronze rings to complement the discs.

Don't forget to pop across to see my partner Carmen's creations at Little Maketto
