Blingy Button Ring

 Hey Everyone,

I hope you've all had a great start to the New Year!
I had a very busy last quarter of 2015 and if you follow my Facebook page you'll see the work I put into my annual craft market.

Today I'm back and this year I'm hoping to include a number of easy jewelry tutorials again. So lets jump right in...

I saw this really awesome ring in our local store and one day I was digging through my button tin and found a button that looked similar to the setting of this particular ring....

What you need:

A cool blingy button with opening at the back

a few rounds of ring memory wire

E6000 or equivalent glue

silver spray paint (optional)

The button was white and as I wanted it to resemble silver, I taped off the blingy top part and spray painted the bottom bit with some left over silver - alternatively nail polish would also work. Once dry, thread the memory wire through the back.

  

 

 Hide the ends in the back of the button and add a dot of glue to secure.

I think this simple little ring would work with any button as long as the openings are at the back of the button. 

I just love it's sparkly bling... although my 8 year old girl has claimed it as her own, and honestly it looks better on her than me!

This is a great little project to do with tweens. It's quick, easy, cheap and the end result is really cute.

Wire Wrapped Ring Tutorial

Hey Everyone,

Today I want to share as easy as pie ring tutorial, these are great to make as gifts or for yourself!

I was inspired by this  pinterest pin. However the blog linked to the pin is not active anymore but I figured the picture was pretty self explanatory.

All you need is 20 gauge jewelry wire!!!

And something to cut the wire - so pliers too. 

If you have a ring mandrel then you can use that, but I used the lid of my nail polish bottle as it measures the right size for my finger.

 Simply..... wind the wire around the mandrel (nail polish lid) until you are happy with the width of it, then secure the end by winding it a few times around the bottom point of the ring. Use your pliers to neaten it up and tuck away any sharp ends. I gently opened the ring a little as I like that spread out look.

 

I think it looks really nice with my titanium band

 Or on its own...

  Either way its cute, versatile and super simple and quick to make.

Cork Pendant Necklaces

Hi Everyone, 

If you search for wine cork necklaces on Pinterest you will find all kinds of great ideas.  But I decided as an experiment, to combine, cork and acrylic paint and rub on decals... I like how my experiment turned out!

Here's what you need and how to make a pendant too....

1. Wine or craft corks, rub on decals, screw eyes, a craft knife, acrylic paint and a sealer (I use Weldbond - it dries clear and non sticky)

2. Cut the cork to the size you require, 

3. Paint lightly the areas you want covered - allow to dry

4. Gently rub on the decal

5. Seal and allow to dry.

6. Carefully screw in the screw eye

Add a chain and your pendant is ready to wear... 

 

 I seriously had so much fun making these and I am excited to try my ideas out on more. 

 

 What do you all think? And which one is your favourite? I'd have to say mine is the turquoise stamp.

3 Step Nail Polish Earrings

 Hey Everyone,

I hope you're all having a great week. 

Today I wanted to show you how to make the easiest earrings EVER - so easy, you can make them in 3 quick steps.

What you will need:

Nail Polish, earring hooks and a couple of small glass dome pendants.

I ordered my pendants from WholePort

Please check them out, their prices are fantastic and the service is great.

So 3 Steps?.... Here we go....

Step 1 : Paint a layer of nail polish inside the cab - let it dry.

Step 2: Paint a layer of polish on the glass dome - stick it to the cab - let dry.

Step 3: Attach to the earring hooks and wear!

  

Cuteness right?

 And so completely simple, you can make up a whole batch of them! 

I've made mine for a craft market in November.

This pair however... are for me!

Simple Tassel Pendant

Hi everyone,

Today I'm going to show you just how easy it is to make this super cute, super simple Tassel Pendant.

Remember my tutorial is only a guide - you can add your own twist to these simple necklaces.

What you need:

 Beads, a pendant, headpins, jump rings and chain

 What to do:

1. Assemble your pendant if you're going to use a glass dome pendant. Otherwise if not - then ensure your pendant has a top and bottom attachment loop.
2. Cut 3 lengths of chain of differing lengths and join them together with a jump ring.
3. Attach the tassel to the bottom loop of the pendant/
4. Form a loop in the headpin and loop through the top of the pendant.
5. secure the headpin
6. Add the beads and close off the headpin.
7. Add a chain

How cute is this wee necklace right?

 I loved how well it turned out so I made another one in white...

I think I'll be making a few more, I just adore the white one. And they are just so easy to assemble.

Summer Garden - A Statement Necklace

Hey Everyone, 

This was my post at Inspiration Cafe for the Bloomin Marvelous series.

So I'm going to be sharing an easy Statement Necklace tutorial based on a strip of ceramic flower shaped beads that just reminded me of a Summer garden.

What you need for a necklace:

1 headpin, jump rings, chain, a clasp, beads and a focal bead.

Pliers (not pictured)

What to do:

1. Thread focal bead and other beads onto the headpin

2.  bend the headpin at a 90 degree angle.

3.  Using round nosed jewelry pliers, bend the headpin back around to form a half loop.

4. Measure the middle of your length of chain and hook the headpin through a link in the chain 

5. Twist the wire of the headpin around the loop.

6. Keep twisting around the loop, pulling the wire neatly in a circle. tuck and tighten the end.

7. Thread seed beads on to jump rings.

8. Work your way along the chain, on either side of the focal, adding the seed beads.

9. Complete the necklace by adding the clasp.

 

Easy right? So easy!

 It turned out much better than I pictured! Don't you think?

Because I was loving the colour combination so much I whipped up a simple bracelet to match.

I just loved this challenge! I had so much fun making these items.

And they just shout Summer Garden.
