Hi Everyone,
I need some wall art for our bedroom as the walls are bare... literally.
And we are slowly doing our tiny room over (finally!!!)
I
popped into Spotlight for some beads over the weekend and of course I
bought a few other bits.. .like scrapbook paper sheets (from
Kaisercraft - Prairie Lane Collection and are reversible, which I
love.), some wooden letters and wooden hearts.
I still didn't know where I was going with this until I discovered an old dusty photo frame tucked away in a cupboard.
I painted the frame a dark brown and the cardboard insert a creamy colour.
Then
I cut 3 pieces of each sheet of scrapbook paper to fit and stuck into
the frame using Papercraft double sided adhesive tape.
I stuck the reverse sides of the scrapbook paper onto the hearts and mounted....
So simple and easy - it took me about 20 minutes to put together.
The
end result is so much better than my expectations. I didn't use the
wooden letters in the end, which means another project in the making...
Not only will this look great in our bedroom but it symbolises our love as a couple and a family.
And maybe Valentines inspired too....
In in the last few days little Maclayne has learnt to say "mine" (sounds more like "My")...
While
I was leaning the frame against the bench to take a photo - her little
hand reached out and she tried to grab a heart saying "my"....
She made me think of that beautiful poem by E. E. Cummings.
I only knew the first couple of lines so had to look it up.... Its very powerful and it definitely touches your soul.....
