This week I tried a new technique and Im hoping you like the end result as much as I do. I know it wont be to everyone's taste and to be honest I wasn't too sure myself at first but now I'm hooked.
This side table has literally stood next to my sofa exactly like this for the last 5 years! The basket holds all kinds of nappy changing items as this spot is where I have been changing nappies on the floor forever.....
Poor little table - time for a makeover....
Sean did the initial sanding to get the old varnish off.
I painted the entire table white, once dry I painted each surface a different colour.
Then another 2 coats of white
Sean loaded sand paper onto the sander for me and and I got to work....
Have a little look....
Sean replaced the drawer pull with a handle that I've had lurking around for years.
I gave her a couple of coats of satin varnish
Oh No!!!! The basket was not working with that colour....
So a quick coat of white paint later and my basket was transformed...
So, so, so much better.....
Don't you think?
Now I need to tackle that wooden chest.....
A before and after.....
The total cost of this project was $0 as I had all the materials on hand already. A totally worthwhile makeover at that cost!
Im really loving it - so fresh and clean....
Thanks for stopping by, let me know what you all think....
