Inspirational Wall Art

I love Frangipani flowers -  love them...

Growing up, we had a couple of Frangipani trees by the swimming pool and when they flowered the scent was pure Summer...

So... now.... Im going to let you in on a little secret.....I have A LOT of pictures of them all over my house!!!!  (Don't judge me - I love them.....)

This little project started when I decided I had enough of my blah main wall in the living room. I wanted to keep my inspiring signs for a gallery wall on this side of the room

So I painted them white, distressed them a little and put them aside for later when arranging the layout of the new gallery wall....

Then one rainy day I looked up at my flowers and thought they looked a bit sad.....

Of course I cant leave anything alone, I pulled the pictures off the wall and laid the signs against them... It worked!!!!

Out came the hot glue gun and my inspirational wall art was born...

Looks better right?

Above the dining table I propped my "Believe" sign...

Now for a couple of my other Frangipani Pictures...

I made these last year using a calendar, canvases and modge... they look fab in the corridor

And this one propped on the top of my cube shelves....

Okay, so Im not going to admit to any other Frangipani pictures lurking in storage, but I hope you enjoyed my little obsession collection.....

Take care,

Quick Bedside table Makeover

Hi everyone,

Hope your having a good week so far, We only have 1 week left of the summer holidays and everyone is getting excited about School and Kindergarten starting next week (and by everyone I mean Everyone...... ok, me... mostly!)

Im working on so many little crafts that seem to be taking ages so I decided that I needed to get onto my long overdue bedside table project. I've had this table for years and years.... not so cute, right?

In one afternoon during Maclayne's nap time, I primed (dries in 15 minutes and is paint ready in 45) and painted 2 coats of Dulux Colours of New Zealand - Musick Point (blue).
I hear you gasp... but not White? Nope - my bedroom will be getting its makeover at some stage soon and my furniture is dark brown, so I am going with blue, white and brown as my colour scheme.

I added a new drawer pull and 2 coats of satin varnish later in the evening and here is the result....

What a difference with a brown basket added for extra storage....

I had all the materials on hand so literally this cost me a big fat $0.... Gotta love that....

Take care and I hope you were inspired to add that little pop of colour to a room today...

Do Not Jump on the Furniture.......!!!!!

This is what I brought home from the Accident and Emergency tonight.....

My SON.... in a Moon-boot!!!!!!

Lets review.......

Me: "Gabes please stop jumping on the couch .... you're gonna get hurt"

Gabe (running and jumping onto said couch): " No I wont mum"

Me: "STOP jumping up on my couch!!! Right NOW!!!"

Gabe: Aaaaarrrrgggghhhh........ (doubled over in pain)

Me: "See ..... I told you....."

No sympathy from mum nor dad.... a lot of whining later we thought we would try bandage his foot (maybe he has sprained it - more likely not) and he screamed in pain.... And his poor foot was so swollen.

Off to the emergency doctor..... hmmmm.... off to the Radiology Clinic..... HMMMM.....

My boy has fractured his foot!

Seriously... how hard did he hit his foot against the couch arm rest???

Luckily he just managed to fit in the moon-boot or he would have had to have a plaster cast.
We have 6 weeks of him in the boot and in 10 days time we have a specialist appointment booked - yup on the first day of school - how am I gonna juggle that???

But look at his cuteness....  Bless him....

One more look at that x-ray....

 Moral of the story?????
Do not jump on the furniture Listen to your mother!

Hope you have all had a happy weekend...

Beachy Inspiration

Hi Everyone,

As you know I'm doing another gallery wall, this time in the living room.
I have about 8 white frames with photo's in so far, but wanted to include some beachy pictures, whether it be colour inspired or nature inspired.

So I've been doing a bit of digging - now that we have Broadband - I know, I know....we have been coping with dial-up for many years but now that I'm blogging it made sense to join the real world.....

I found this amazing site from Pinterest and I just had to visit it...
Design Seeds  is a fantastic source for colour palettes and there are so many gorgeous pictures ...

Now as I need beach inspired colours - its a toss up of the following colours... should I go natural sands, sky blues or aqua??? Have a look at the few offerings I've downloaded from Design Seeds

I love the blue of this boat and I am thinking it may be the "pop" colour I'm looking for

However my trusted favourite colour.....

What about a dash of red?
