An Afternoon at the Beach

Hi Everyone,
Today we took a drive to the West Coast, to the black sands of Bethells Beach.

We don't venture to this beach often because its a long way from where we live, its not a swimming beach and Sean and I have either had our feet burnt to cinders on the black sand or we have been drenched in rainstorms...

Today, though was a lovely mild day and the kids have been desperate to dig in sand, so off we went....

I just love the rustic guard tower against the pounding surf....

The kids had so much fun building sand castles then destroying them. Maclayne even tried out the freezing water for a few seconds...

The west coast beaches are much more rugged than our east coast bays and the surf can be pretty dangerous

Sean and I managed to get a pic of ourselves for a change...

We stayed until sunset and when it got too cold to stay any longer we headed off home to takeaway fish and chips and hot baths...

Happy Saturday  hope you're all having a great weekend

Take care

  3. I am jealous that you live within driving distance of the beach. What great memories you and your kids will have of these little day trips. Thanks for the peek into your world! Here it is already hot, hot, hot!
