Hello Everyone
Today I'm going to show you how I made this beachy bracelet.
Its really easy and of course the sky is your limit with projects like this.
Recently I discovered I actually liked memory wire after years of avoiding it for some reason. So I'm loving creating all kinds of looks with it. And I have been inspired, quite a lot by my environment, last month I created a Winter inspired bracelet and this week the beach has been calling....
The image I had of the beach is one of my favourite photos that I took at Shakespeare Beach. Look at the rich colours, the sand and the greenish hue of the sea. It threatened a storm that day and there was a yellow tinge to everything.
What you need:
beads of varying sizes, shapes and colours
charms for your theme - I used shells and starfish
jump rings to attach the charms to the bracelet
memory wire cut to your desired length - mine wraps around my wrist 5 times
I bought all my supplies from Spotlight.
I bought all my supplies from Spotlight.
Using a pair of long nosed pliers bend one end of the wire to form a loop.
Then thread your beads and charms on, and end off again with another loop.
So simple!
However, if you're anything like me, you will re-thread your beads over and over until you're happy with the look...
Then you throw your family into the car for a trip to the beach and a photo shoot....
I think this is by far my favourite creation yet. At least when I wear it this winter it will remind me of the beach and put some cheer into our cold dark days.
Take care
xxx

DeleteSO PRETTY! Congrats on being featured this week at the "Cowgirl Up!" blog party. Your photography is just as gorgeous as your actual project. It even looks and sounds easy enough for those of us who do not regularly make jewelry. Your bracelet is getting me in a summer-time mood.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you like it - we are headed into winter, wish it was summer too. xx Nat
DeleteSo pretty! I love all of the colours and different textures together. Anything that reminds me of the beach is a hit in my books. If you're looking for another place to share your creative projects, head on over to Etcetorize. Would love to see you there~
ReplyDeleteThanks Tamara - will do xxx
DeleteLoving those beads and charms you used, so summery, beachy. Duh I especially love the yellowish colored beads. What are those? They look kinda mother of pearly but ? I hadn't used memory wire to make bracelets in long time. Think I"ll have to give it a go again. Alot easier than making 5 seperate bracelets. Love the look.
ReplyDeleteHow I envy you living in Australia. I've read so many books about Australia when it was first inhabited and then on. I also had a Senior Companion client that was from Brisbane. she shared some of the pictures she had of Australia, so gorgeous. I loved her accent and her way of thinking. I would so love to be able to visit there but fare there isn't in my budget for eons(meaning never since I'm almost 72). Lately a tv show (Househunters International) has featured
several areas of Australia. I'm stuck to the tv when those shows are on. So beautiful and clean there.
I love it that the internet makes it possible to "meet" people from other countries. There are several Australian bloggers. It was so nice to "meet" you. Look forward to visiting your blog often.
Thank you so much for reading srpprcrftr, the yellow beads are a shell of some sort. I live in New Zealand which is just across the ditch from Australia - so still "Down Under" - I hope you comment again soon xxx
