Family Sign

I have to admit to you all that I'm in a bit of a creative fog right now.
I'm just taking it slow and hoping inspiration hits real soon.

I made this cute little sign a while ago now, so thought I would show you how!

I think I got the Family sign at Spotlight with a voucher.

Firstly I painted the wood a charcoal colour, then the turquoise over it. I distressed it so that a fair bit of the charcoal showed through. Then using card rub-ons I added some detail to the sign.

I love card rub-ons they are so versatile and add to the overall look of the finished item.

To add some protection to the sign, I gave it a few coats of varnish.

So cute - it looks right at home on the shelf

Take care everyone,

  1. How gorgeous!
Your sign is beautiful, and such a nice beachy color!
I am feeling exactly the same, also no real crafty inspiration...
    hugs dear Natalie

    1. Thanks Jutta, I know - I need to relax and hopefully inspiration will find me again

  2. Gorgeous! I love the rub-on and the distressing.

  3. Well, that is just precious. I love the little decals and you can't go wrong with that color. I really hope you get a huge dose of creativity soon. Probably when you get some good sleep and relaxation you will. Lord knows I go blank of all creativity when I've got too much going on. You'll be churning out the creative projects in no time!

  4. Love it. The colours are so beachy and so you.
